THE RETURN OF THE 2008
HERO YOUTH AMBASSADORS
21 students from around the US and Canada were selected and took part in this year's HERO Youth Ambassador Program. After spending 6 weeks volunteering their time in Namibia and South Africa, they have since returned home with a sense of accomplishment, new friendships and a better understanding of their role as global citizens. INTRODUCING PROTECTING FUTURES
Hero is proud to announce the launch of the Protecting Futures Program. HERO in partnership with Procter and Gamble's FemCare brands, Tampax and Always, have developed the Protecting Futures Program to help keep African girls in school. Protecting Futures was one of the main funders of this past year's HERO Youth Ambassador Program, funding the building of two new classroom blocks as well as playground equipment at two of the HERO-supported schools in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa.
